Who Is Gerald the Dolphin and Why the Internet Cannot Stop Talking About It
Share
The internet has a talent for turning the strangest stories into viral moments. One of the latest examples is the mysterious rise of Gerald the Dolphin.
The joke began spreading online after reports and memes circulated about a dolphin supposedly kidnapping a swimmer. The story quickly caught the attention of social media, and within hours the internet did what it does best. It turned the situation into a meme.
Soon the dolphin had a name.
Gerald.
From there the joke exploded across the internet. Memes, parody wanted posters, and jokes about a criminal dolphin started appearing everywhere. The idea of a dolphin casually committing crimes in Florida became one of those absurd internet moments that people could not stop sharing.
Like many viral jokes, the humor comes from how ridiculous the idea is. A dolphin with a criminal reputation is exactly the kind of thing the internet loves.
At StickerAttitude by RockPaperStikrz, we love capturing those weird internet moments and turning them into something people can actually keep.
That is why we created our Gerald the Dolphin sticker collection, inspired by the meme that has been making people laugh across social media.
Whether it ends up on a laptop, water bottle, car window, or sticker collection, it is a fun way to capture one of the internet's strangest viral jokes.

The internet moves fast, but sometimes the weirdest jokes are the ones that stick around.
And Gerald might be one of them.
